MTV Australia recently revealed their shortlist of acts for ‘Brand New For 2016′, a public-voted talent-finding competition.
Among the ten finalists is Montaigne, a Sydney-based musician who was a Triple J Unearthed High finalist in 2012 and just recently released her debut album Glorious Heights.
A vegan for four years, Montaigne (Jessica Cerro) has nominated Animal Liberation NSW to receive $10,000 if she wins MTV Brand New Australia.
She is currently (August 18) sitting at second place on 2175 tweets, just behind Nicole Millar on 2250 tweets.
Voting opened on August 8 and will close at 11:59 AEST on October 16.
To vote, simply tweet “Montaigne #MTVBrandNew”.
There is no limit to how many times you can vote.
The first ever Australia and New Zealand version of the MTV Brand New competition launched in 2015, with its UK counterpart having launched some of music’s biggest names, including Sam Smith, Florence and the Machine, Adele, Jessie J and James Bay.
Good luck, Montaigne!
